"I Woke Up this Morning with a New State of Mind..."

Kanye West’s CD- “The College Dropout” hits stores next Tuesday, February 10th- Make sure to pick it up! That’s right kids- I said PICK IT UP- meaning buy it! Turn off your fucking Kazaa and drive down to your music store and pick that shit up! (By the way- Kazaa sucks and if you’re still using it you’re a loser) I support only the artists that put out quality CD’s and trust me- this one is crazy nice. It’s a breath of fresh air to have new cat on the scene that isn’t rapping about hoes, clothes, and ice. I have to say I love this CD. The tracks are great; the skits are funny, and its got amazing guests on the album such as Jay-Z, Common Sense, Talib Kweli, and Mos Def. Now I know not all of y’all know who Kanye West is. My boy Timashion and I have been bumping his stuff for awhile- but for the rest of you here is some other stuff you might have heard him from. He’s just getting known as a rapper now- but he is already well known for producing beats. On the charts right now he produced Alicia Keys’ “U Don’t Know My Name”, Ludacris’ “Stand Up”, Twista’s “Slo Jamz” (which he also has a verse on), and his own track “Thru the Wire” (click here to view the video) that he recorded while he jaw was wired shut after being in a near fatal car accident. Some of you might also be wondering why his CD is entitled “The College Dropout”. I heard that Kanye dropped out of College after his first year when he found out that his scholarship only covered the first year- so he couldn’t afford to goto school anymore unless he took on debt- so instead he just dropped out. Too early to call this CD a classic- but its definitely the first great CD of 2004. I told you kids in December that you would know who Kanye West is soon enough- now just remember where you heard that first!

I watched the Superbowl this weekend. I’m not a fan of either the Patriots or the Panthers but it was really an entertaining game, which was pretty cool. Most people don’t even realize who won the game since most of the emphasis has been on Janet Jackson’s breast being exposed during the half time show. At the end of a performance of “Rock Your Body”, Justin Timberlake pulled off the right side of Janet’s top, exposing her breast right before the lights dimmed. Turns out that her breast wasn’t actually bare- she was wearing a metal shield to cover her nipple. Janet and Justin are saying it was a mistake- calling it a “costume malfunction”, but it was clearly planned. I love breasts just as much as the next person- but I found this to be totally unnecessary, especially since many families were watching the Superbowl. (Like Timashion watching it with families at Church) What a poor cry for publicity- Janet could have done something tasteful for attention… like marrying her friend and getting an annulment a day later like Britney. I guess Janet wanted to do something to top Madonna kissing Britney Spears at the MTV awards. I hear Madonna is jealous- how long do you think it will be before we see Madonna kissing Janet’s nipple on stage? Speaking of Janet- I don’t understand all you people who say she is hot. Saying you think Janet is hot is like saying you find Michael Jackson with breasts attractive- you sick fucks.

Nelly also performed during the halftime show. Yup- I still think Nelly should be shot. And if you like Nelly you should probably be shot too.

I guess its finally over between Bennifer Lofleck. Rumors say that J-Ho is looking to hook back up with Puffy. Yet another thing I prophesized came true! I said this was gonna happen more than half a year ago! I’m just a regular Nostradamus.

Mayflor and I started a new tradition of calling eachother on Thursday’s. We alternate every week and if someone forgets to call the other person gets to YELL at them and the person at fault has to take it all and apologize! Excuses are NOT accepted! So far so good though- we’re at 3 weeks strong- making it already the longest tradition I have ever kept! I bet she will be the first one to forget- but she claims its gonna be me…. Yeah I don’t think so! By the way- if you ever need someone to yell at Future Shop for you- make sure to call May- I hear she has a lot of experience.

My cousin Karen is coming to visit!! I can’t wait- I haven’t seen her for a long time- too long. It’s too bad that Sarah can’t come down with her but she’ll be in Jamaica helping some homeless people or something, and of course catching some rays. That reminds me- today Sarah and I voted that Karen has to be the first one out of us to get married. Whew!! Pressure is off of me for a while now!

I saw the Indian movie “Kal Ho Naa Ho” about a month ago. I thought it was a really good movie, and that it was very touching. It was so good that it inspired me to become a better person- too bad that feeling only lasted for 20 minutes. I think that’s the first time an Indian movie inspired anyone to do anything aside from singing and dancing. Preity Zinta is actually kinda cute in a geeky looking way. I don’t know what it is- but whatever it is it works for her. For some reason lately I like glasses on girls (she wears glasses in this movie).

Harm and I were talking one day and the topic of drinking came up (she’s an alcoholic) and she made the bold claim that she could drink more than me. I thought that was pretty hilarious considering I don’t imagine her being able to drink more alcohol than me. Not that I’m an alcoholic like her- but I do have a high tolerance. She claims many guys have said that they can drink more than her, and all of them have ended up crying because they lost “bigtime”. Well I accepted her challenge so I’m going to have to go up to Hamilton one of these days to prove her wrong. You’re going down! I swear this girl has a million and one drunken stories- like the time when she got so drunk that she slept on a toilet seat! Gross!

I have to say thanks to my girl Sabrina for trying to find me a job in Vancouver. I know I haven’t found one yet but it’s much appreciated! I’m still not giving up- I wanna move out to the West Coast! Its warmer, prettier, and you can actually breathe the fucking air!

I’m going to marry Riya Sen- she just doesn’t know it yet.

I’ve retired from going clubbing (at least for a month). 8 Saturdays in a row was way too much. Anyways I’m starting to work Saturdays again and I’m usually way too lazy to go out after work. Jag has bet me that I won’t last 3 weeks. The bet is that if I win, she has to take me out to dinner (it better not be Mcdonalds), and if I lose I have to buy her a car and give her my hand in marriage. Needless to say I’m pretty confident that I’m going to win. The last I heard she is Fedexing me a case of Tequila and Crown Royal.

Speaking of Jag- she is still cheating on me with her boyfriend. Actually she says she wants to hook me up with one of her friends- but she has to see if I’m “worthy” first. I think its gonna be hard coz this girl has hella high standards. I hear you have to be out of jail for AT LEAST 2 months to qualify apparently.

Wing was actually a “nice guy” for 3 whole days a few weeks ago for Chinese New Year. His definition of being nice consists of no swearing, no making fun of people, and being polite at all times. He challenged me to do the same for a day. I lasted about 19 hours before giving up. It was really hard because I had to think about what I was going to say before I actually said it (something I’m not fan of), and also I found myself biting my tongue a lot when I wanted to make a comment. Wing did last 3 days, which was pretty amazing-, but when he stopped he ended up acting like 3 times bigger of a jackass then he already was before. Wing said when he was acting nice people would swear at him and make fun of him. That led me to the conclusion that being nice is overrated and under appreciated! Plus I found it to be motherfucking boring at times.

A lot of people are getting colds and flu’s again. I guess this is the second wave. So remember that if you’re sick you should drink plenty of water, take your medicine, get a lot of rest, and most importantly STAY THE FUCK away from me. I don’t need to get sick! Salman told me that the reason why a lot of people who got the flu shot this year still got the flu is because they anticipated the wrong strain of flu would affect this area, therefore the flu shot that you ended up getting only gave you 20% immunities! Haha suckers! Yet another reason why I don’t rely on doctors.

The results are in from the poll about if its acceptable to date much younger women. Apparently most of you sided with Richard thinking age is just a number! Richard only dated the girl once because he said she was too “clingy”. But Wing and me are lobbying for him to go out with her again because she’s HOT! She’s actually the hottest chick we have ever seen Richard with. So come on Rich- give Venezuelan girl a chance!! How else are Wing and I suppose to live out lives vicariously through you? Think of us you selfish bastard!

Sathi says she’s joining the army! She wants to become a reserve and work only one weekend a month or something after her training is done. She says she wants to do it for the discipline, and she said that people that she has known that have gone through it say that once you’re done your training you’re a different person or something. But I like you just the way you are!! Well I hope that she changes her mind- but I totally support her 110% if she decides to do it- she’s a very smart girl and I know she knows what she’s getting into.

By the way Sathi just had all 4 of her wisdom teeth taken out! I hope you have a speedy recovery sweetie!

Yasin gave me a call on Thursday while I was at school to ask me if I wanted to goto a Detroit Fury Arena Football game, at the Palace of Auburn Hills. He got the tickets free from the company he works at so we got to sit in a luxury suite that usually costs $100US! The luxury suites have leather couches in them, televisions, a wet bar, and free beer, vodka and pop. The game itself was actually surprisingly cool. The field is only 50 yards long so the games are a lot higher scoring. A lot of the rules are different than regular football- but it was pretty neat overall. One thing I particularity liked the Fury cheerleaders- some of them were pretty cute! Thanks to Yasin- we should do it again when your company hooks you up with some more tickets!
